Arts, Facts, and Artifacts, Reception 12-7-2017

Arts, Facts, and Artifacts Reception was well attended.

A nice spread of Holiday cookies, delights, and wine. Look closely and you will

see an interview going on with KTVO and Andrea O’Brien.

People were fascinated by the Architectural Renderings of the New

Sue Ross Arts Center.

Maureen told us how the Show came to be. We heard some stories of

folks helping save the day. Firemen and law enforcement rescued quilts

gently and with great respect, one year ago.

People were able to see items salvaged from the fire, up close and personal.

The Guest Book!

This quilt hanging on the wall, shows what was in the black garbage bags

that they returned our quilts in.

This particular quilt was the last thing Andrea O’Brien had of her grandmother’s.

Here Meredith Willcox shows the new quilt she has just finished, which

replaces the one burned in the Fire Dec 2, 2016.

The president of the Hands Of Friendship Quilt Guild in Kirksville, Andrea O’Brien

tries to thank the firemen and police for their kind efforts at rescuing our precious

quilts. She couldn’t say it without tears. We are all so grateful.
